Nautilus Neighborhood Improvement Project - Miami Beach, FL
Design-Build Team consisted of DMSI & APCTE for the Nautilus Neighborhood Improvement Project. This project was located in the Nautilus Neighborhood in Miami Beach, Florida. The project contained water and sewer improvements, drainage improvements, and streetscaping. The water and sewer improvements were designed to address the concern of the City of Miami Beach 1994 Comprehensive Water & Sewer Master Plan.
The scope of work for this project included approximately 34,000 LF of new 8” ductile iron water main; which was prioritized according to the CMB Water & Sewer Master Plan. The first phase of the WM included 17500 LF of 8” DIP WM, while the second phase included 16,500 LF of 8” DIP WM. The design included multiple tie-ins of the proposed 8" DIP water lines to the existing water mains at various locations.
New Fire Hydrants were installed at a myriad of locations in the Nautilus neighborhood.
Additionally, the scope of work included the relocation of approximately 177 water meters. Many of these water meters were installed from rear easements to public sidewalks by trenchless technologies.
